Over the weekend, Riot Games and Netflix just released the League of Legends animated series Arcane, debuting in the #1 spot among all TV series on Netflix and dethroning the South Korean hit Squid Game and surpassing You.
According to Flixpatrol, Arcane hit the #1spot on the Netflix Top 10 in its debut. Riot's animated series surpassed major streaming shows like Squid Game (#2), Narcos: Mexico (#3), You (#4), and Maid (#5). Dynasty, Big Mouth, Locke & Key, My Name, and Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha rounded out the top 10 in the world.
While Arcane dominated Top 10 rankings in many countries, the series currently ranks only #6 on Netflix U.S. However, this could still change as the rest of the episodes for Arcane Season 1 comes out in the following weeks as Netflix just released the first three episodes of the nine-episode season.
Here are the markets where Arcane is ranked #1:
- Costa Rica
- Czech Republic
- Dominican Republic
Arcane is definitely one of the best shows you can watch on Netflix now. The series is based on Riot's popular MOBA game League of Legends, and its story focuses on the relationship between LoL champions Jinx and Vi, and the larger struggle between the twin cities of Piltover, a bastion of tech and innovation, and Zaun, a dangerous undercity filled with crime and poverty.
The second act of Arcane will premiere on Netflix this Saturday, Nov. 13, 7PM PT. You can read more details about Arcane here.
