Aquaman’s Early Reviews Praise the “Buck Wild” DCEU Entry

There's certainly a lot of hype for Aquaman, not just because of the film's trailers, but because of the positive early reviews that have been circulating online. Last week, the internet was graced with early reactions from fans who were able to attend early screenings of the film. This week, the reviews come from critics.

Earlier this month, Warner Brothers screened the final cut of Jason Momoa's first standalone film as Arthur Curry to members of the press. Though full reviews are still under embargo, many of these journalists and critics took to Twitter to offer some of their thoughts on the upcoming Aquaman movie, and so far, everything seems super.

Some critics call the film "breathtakingly beautiful," others describe the DC Extended Universe entry as a "buck wild movie," and others say the film is filled with "spectacle &highlighted by creatures of the Abyss."

Not only do critics seem to agree that Aquaman is so much fun in so many measures, they can't help but heap praise on the film's director James Wan and on Momoa who successfully brings Arthur Curry out of the shadows.

These early reactions are definitely a great sign for the DCEU. The franchise has been in need of a win ever since the poor performance of Justice League. Sure, the franchise might have had a taste of success thanks to Wonder Woman, but the DCEU's still struggled to find its footing. Hopefully, Aquaman becomes the start of something new for the DCEU.

Aquaman hits cinemas December 21, 2018.
