The legal battle between Aquaman star Amber Heard and her former husband, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actor Johnny Depp, has taken another major turn.
According to a report by Comic Book Resources, Heard is currently being sued for defamation. Depp has filed a defamation case against his former spouse because of the actress domestic abuse allegations.
As it turns out the actor has new evidence suggesting that Heard faked a few of her alleged injuries at the hands of Depp. These fake injuries originally allowed Heard to obtain a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband.
If this defamation suit pushes through and the claims against Heard are proven true, then the DC Extended Universe star could very well face up to three years in prison for falsifying evidence. The actress may also end up losing her job over at DC.
The legal battle between Depp and Heard has had quite some twists and turns over the years. Back in 2018, Heard wrote an op-ed piece claiming that she had been physically abused by her ex-husband. Soon after that, Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard. Now, Depp claims that he has evidence that Heard had used makeup to create bruises that she used as evidence for her TRO in 2016. It's been quite a wild ride. Netizens have had trouble finding which side to take with all of its twists and turns.
We can only hope for the truth to come out soon.
