2022 has proven to be a pivotal year for both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp who finally ended their years-long feud. Last June, the Aquaman star lost the multi-million defamation lawsuit the Pirates of the Caribbean actor filed against her, and although Amber is determined to reappeal the verdict, the 59-year-old Hollywood icon has undoubtedly gained the majority of the public's sympathy.

It's been a couple of months since the defamation verdict was dished out but it's evident that fans are still quite invested in the whole drama, especially Amber who recently earned a new accolade, presumably due to the highly-publicized legal battle between the former spouses. According to a new report, Amber has officially been named Google's most-searched celebrity for 2022.

The data comes from Hollywood news site Celeb Tattler (via New York Post) which reported that the 36-year-old actor has topped the list with an average of 5.6 million searches per month in the United States alone. Depp isn't far behind the list, who is ranked at number two racking up 5.5 million monthly searches.

Aside from the two controversial figures, Kim Kardashian, Elon Musk, Tom Brady, Pete Davidson, and the late Queen Elizabeth II were also on the list.

These days, Amber is quietly living her life in Spain with daughter Oonagh Paige and girlfriend Bianca Butti while Depp is reportedly gearing up for his grand return to Hollywood. While the drama between them has been nothing short of chaotic, I'm glad the whole ordeal has run its course. Well, at least for the meantime.

Meanwhile, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled for theatrical release on December 25, 2023.
