There's no denying that Amber Heard is one of the most despised actors in Hollywood and she's often viewed as an abusive and manipulative human being. It may come as a surprise to some of you though. However, despite her controversies, the DC Universe star still has some people's sympathy. Just recently, the 36-year-old actress gained new allies months following her defamation trial loss against Johnny Depp.
It turns out that more than 130 people, including journalist Gloria Steinem, and organizations in the field of women’s rights advocacy and domestic violence and sexual assault awareness have joined forces to pen an open letter voicing their support for Heard whom they claim is the true victim all along.
The letter (via NBC News), written by a group of people who identify as domestic violence survivors and supporters of the actress was released publicly on Wednesday, November 16.
Despite the controversial actress gaining a hundred new allies, the petition calling for her firing from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom continues to gather steam online. As it stands, the Change.org petition launched a number of years ago has already garnered over 4.6 million signatures and is currently targeting 6 million.

Of course, it's hard to determine how many of those who signed the petition are actually genuine but there's no denying that Amber is still outnumbered. Meanwhile, Amber's current status in the DCU remains unclear but per the latest rumors, WB Discovery reportedly has no plans of keeping the actress who is pretty much a liability for the DC franchise they're rebuilding.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled for theatrical release on December 25, 2023.
