Aquaman Official Runtime Aims To Outdo 2017's Wonder Woman, Man of Steel

There is little doubt that James Wan's Aquaman has a lot to tackle, from Arthur Curry's journey to find his identity to a major underwater battle. Not surprisingly, the highly anticipated DC Extended Universe flick is set for a lengthy runtime that could rival 2017's Wonder Woman.

Twitter user @kryptonscodex came across a document from Vertical Entertainment, one of the film distribution companies that might be handling Aquaman. The list includes the name of the movie's director, stars, and producers. Interestingly, it also confirms the DCEU film's runtime at 143 minutes.

If the document is legit, this could mean that Aquaman has a runtime of two hours and 23 minutes. It's the exact same runtime as Man of Steel and about two minutes longer than Wonder Woman (141 minutes). Luckily, it's not as long as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which clocked in at 151 minutes.

It might seem like a long film but as previously mentioned, Aquaman has a lot to cover. We're expecting to see how his mother Queen Atlanna ended up being with Thomas Curry. In addition to that, Arthur will set off on a journey with Mera before facing off against Black Manta AND THEN meet Ocean Master in a duel. And these are only things that have been hinted at in the trailers.

There could be more to look forward to in the movie. For now, we would recommend taking this with a grain of salt until the official runtime is released.

Aquaman is scheduled for release on December 21.
