Aquaman, Mera, and Queen Atlanna Grace Cover of Entertainment Weekly

Aquaman is the only DCEU movie coming out this year, but for some reason, the marketing has been quiet all the way till June. Now it looks like the movie is ready to start promotion, as three principal characters from the movie grace the recent cover of Entertainment Weekly.

Director James Wan also had this to say about the movie:

"The water world my movie takes place in is so separate and so far apart from previous DC movies it's like I'm making my own sci-fi fantasy film… This is a whole new underwater world nobody has seen before in live action."

After the disappointing reception of Justice League, WB had decided to put a hold on the DCEU to reconsider where they were taking the franchise down the line. For now, they had appointed Walter Hamada to be the head of the DC Films, and it looks like he has a solid plan on how to proceed.

With the release of these new Aquaman images, it's possible that we could be getting our first trailer right around the corner. Rumor had it that we would be getting our first preview this week, and Friday looks like the best time to drop the trailer.

Fingers crossed.

Aquaman is set to come out Dec. 21.
