Aquaman Makes a Ton of Money in China

While we're all sad over the trailer of Marvel Studios' Avengers Endgame, DC is pretty happy over in China as Aquaman has made the company a lot of money. This should get people's hopes up for the upcoming DC movie, though it's worth noting that China also helped the Warcraft movie make a ton of money. Still, this is a good win for Warner Bros. and shows why Hollywood prioritizes the Chinese market so much.

Variety claims that Aquaman gave Warner Bros. their biggest opening ever in China, which is a huge milestone for any company, making RMB 169 Million. This alone could ensure that we get a sequel to the Jason Momoa-led film, but we'll have to wait and see how they do in the rest of the world. Still, this is good news overall and Warner Bros. deserves to celebrate.

It seems like DC and Warner Bros. have learned their lesson from Batman V Superman, Justice League, and Suicide Squad. The movie is a bit lighter and has a ton of color but we're all hoping that it doesn't feel like a Marvel film. Then again, there's nothing wrong with being compared to a quality film company.

Aquaman will be coming out on December 21.
