Aquaman Film Could Be Released A Week Early In Some Countries

We all need to wait until the end of the year to see Jason Momoa in action in Aquaman. However, some countries might get to watch the James Wan film a full week earlier than the rest of the world.

A Reddit user has just shared a screenshot of movie releases in Australia in December. The image shows that Aquaman is set to premiere on December 13, a whole week ahead of the US release. Check it out below.

DISCUSSION: Not sure if this has been posted or not yet, but Aquaman has been moved to December 13 in Australia!

The earlier release date would mean that Aquaman will be battling with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in the Australian box office. This certainly takes the load off the Transformers spin-off film Bumblebee, which is still scheduled for December 20.

Interestingly, Australia is not the only country that will get to see Aquaman earlier this year. One comment pointed out that the film will premiere a week early in Thailand, Russia, and the UK as well. Some noted that most of Asia will get a similar treat.

However, not all Asian countries are as lucky. One Redditor revealed that Aquaman could be released late in Japan, where the movie is reportedly scheduled for early 2019.

This might seem unfair for US audiences but studios have been releasing certain films earlier in other countries in the past. Australia also got to see Mad Max: Fury Road a day earlier in 2015 but only because movies usually come out on Thursdays in the country.

Aquaman is still scheduled for a US release on December 21.
