Aquaman Director Tries to Ease Fans on Wait for Shazam! Trailer

We were promised a new trailer for Shazam! for the new year, but it's already February and all we've really got was a few short teasers. David F. Sandberg has been frequently getting bugged online about when a new trailer will drop, and now Aquaman's James Wan is coming up to defend him.

Wan posted this as a reply to Sandberg after he posted that he didn't have any trailer updates, much to the dismay of the fans. Wan wrote:

With Shazam! set to come out in April, the only full trailer we have for the film has been the one that was released back in last year's SDCC. Though it's probably a given that WB will give us a new trailer eventually, they better do so soon. If Solo: A Star Wars Story is any indicator, poor marketing can break a film, no matter how good it is.

If you ask me, I think they're still taking time trying to polish the VFX. This was the same reason we got the Aquaman trailer so late. Then again, we're almost two months to the release of Shazam! and we're still looking at the same trailer that came out last July.

Here's to hoping that something drops this month.

Billy Batson is a streetwise 14-year-old who can magically transform into the adult superhero Shazam simply by shouting out one word. His newfound powers soon get put to the test when he squares off against the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

Catch Shazam! in theaters April 5.
