Aquaman Beats Avengers: Infinity War In Advanced Ticket Sales

There's certainly a whole lot of excitement building up over James Wan's Aquaman movie. Not only have been fans gushing over the positive early reactions to the film online, but it looks like they've also been busy booking tickets to the movie.

According to Deadline,Aquaman is enjoying a healthy line of advanced ticket sales ahead of its release next month. The DC Extended Universe entry has just become the biggest advanced ticket seller in the history of Atom Ticket's sales within its first 24 hours on the site. The film's advanced ticket sales in Atom Tickets has become so strong, it's even managed to top the numbers of the previous record holder, Avengers: Infinity War.

While some might connect this with the hype of the movie, part of the reason why Aquaman is enjoying particularly high advanced ticket sales is because of DC's special offer for Amazon Prime subscription holders which allows them to watch the film a week before its actual release in more than 1,000 theatrical locations around the United States.

Meanwhile, in Fandango, Aquaman has also become a top advanced ticket seller with the film's first-day pre-sales moving past the tickets sold by Sony's Venom and by Mission: Impossible-Fallout.

Hopefully, these strong advanced ticket sales continue as the film approaches its release next month. DC needs a win after the poor performance of Justice League. Though the DCEU enjoyed a short stint of success after Patty Jenkin's Wonder Woman, the franchise continues having some difficulty finding its footing.

Aquaman hits cinemas December 21, 2018.
