Apparently It's Venom, Not Deadpool, Who's Appearing In Spider-Man 3

Recent reports suggest that Deadpool will be featured in the third Spider-Man film, but this will reportedly not be the case.

Instead, it's Venom who's apparently making an appearance in the movie. This is according to Roger Wardell, who revealed major plot details for Avengers: Endgame that turned out to be accurate.

Now, he is back at it again, debunking rumors that Wade Wilson is making his long-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Spider-Man 3.

Apparently, there are "no plans" to bring that character to the MCU just yet, squashing the dreams of Spidey-Pool comic book fans. Wardell claims that Sony might be pushing for Tom Hardy's Venom to be featured instead, noting that the studio is "desperate" to have the character in the film.

"Deadpool had his own movies but never showed up in the main X-Men films," Wardell wrote. "It will be the same for the MCU," he concluded. Some fans pointed out the brief appearance of some X-Men characters in Deadpool 2, but since it was so quick and was played off as a joke, it might not be counted.

This ties into the rumor that Sony is indeed planning to bring Tom Holland's Spider-Man into the Venomverse they are building featuring characters from the Spider-Man lore like Black Cat, Silver Sable, and Kraven the Hunter.

For now, nothing has been confirmed yet. However, Wardell has been pretty on point with his revelations so far. His Twitter account just popped up last December, and started revealing major details from Avengers: Endgame including Far Thor, the appearance of Robert Redford, Loki, Captain America's "Hail Hydra" scene, and James D'Arcy's big screen debut as Edwin Jarvis. That's four months before the film's release.

If his track record is anything to go by, a Spider-Man and Deadpool might not happen anytime soon.
