Apex Legends Gets 1 Million Players Within 8 Hours

Respawn

Respawn, the studio behind Titanfall has a new free-to-play Battle Royale game called Apex Legends and it's already drawing a lot of players. The game just broke expectations when it hit over one million players in just 8 hours after it was released.

Over on Twitter, Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella shared the news: "I'm so overwhelmed right now, [Apex] broke a million unique players in under 8 hours."

The developers have also talked about plans for cross-play. With the rise of free-to-play Battle Royale games, it looks like Apex Legends is shaping up to be one of the top contenders against PUBG and Fortnite.

I've watched a streamer on Facebook play this game and I think it looks great, and the graphics look better than Fortnite's, for sure.

"Choose from a lineup of outlaws, soldiers, misfits, and misanthropes, each with their own set of skills," boasts the game's official description. "The Apex Games welcome all comers – survive long enough, and they call you a Legend."

> If you're going to survive the Apex Games, you have to think fast. Master your Legend's abilities, make strategic calls on the fly, and use your team's strengths to your advantage in vicious 60-player matches.
> Experience the next evolution of battle royale with Respawn Beacons you can use to resurrect your teammates, Smart Comms to help you communicate, Intelligent Inventory so you can grab only what you need, and an all-new way to drop into the action with Jumpmaster deployment.
> Compete every season to unlock new Legends, fresh weapons, themed loot, and more.

Apex Legends is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
