Anya Taylor-Joy Admits to Becoming a Gamer Thanks to Princess Peach Role

Anya Taylor-Joy is currently one of the top rising actresses in the world as she is involved in numerous projects including the upcoming animated film The Super Mario Bros. Movie where she voices Princess Peach. While that may be perceived as a job that she took for the sake of a big paycheck, as it turns out, her work in the film had a huge impact on her life.

In an interview with Modern Luxury San Diego, Taylor-Joy revealed that her voice work as Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie had such a major impact as she now has turned into a gamer herself unlike before.

"So now I am a gamer, and it’s really fun. Ideally, I like playing at arcades, because, again, it’s like cinema; I love the ceremony. I’ll go with a whole bunch of friends. And we’ll just spend hours at the arcade," she said.

It is surprising to learn that Taylor-Joy's experience working in The Super Mario Bros. Movie has made her start playing games herself. While we don't know exactly how it made her turn that way, we can assume that she had a great experience voicing Princess Peach and learning about the world of Mario that she ventured into playing video games just like a lot of people.

Now that we know that she has become a gamer herself, who knows, maybe we'll also see her star in a video game film or TV series in the future. After all, it is becoming a huge trend in Hollywood and it's a matter of time before she will be offered a role in that type of project.

The cast also includes Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Keegan-Michael Key, Fred Armisen, Kevin Michael Richardson, Sebastian Maniscalco, and original Mario voice actor Charles Martinet in an undisclosed cameo role. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic directed the film.
