Fans are understandably relieved that Nick Fury was brought back (along with other heroes) in Avengers: Endgame. But what are the chances that the former SHIELD head will return to help Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes? Anthony Mackie has just teased on the possibility that Fury will be making an appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Mackie recently spoke to Extra about Altered Carbon Season 2 as well as his upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series. Interestingly, the Avengers: Infinity War star was asked if there was any chance that Samuel L. Jackson will be visiting the set of the Disney+ show and his response was surprising.
"I hope so. I heard Falcon becomes Sam Jackson, that's what I heard, so that's what I'm hoping for," Mackie said.
Wait, what? We're not sure what he means by that but Mackie appears to be pushing for Jackson to have a cameo in the first season of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
"We ain't finished shooting yet, so I hope he just show up one day and bless us with his presence," he said.
We'd love to see Fury in action again soon and it would make sense for him to be aiding Sam and Bucky. On the other hand, Jackson's appearance in the series has not yet been confirmed so we'll have to wait for an official announcement from Marvel.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will also star Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Bruhl, and Wyatt Russell. The series is expected to premiere on Disney+ in August.
