Mackie made his debut as Sam Wilson in 2014's Captain: America: The Winter Soldier, and went on to reprise his role for multiple projects throughout the Infinity Saga. Starting as Steve Roger's friend, fighting a brainwashed Bucky Barnes in The Winter Soldier, Mackie continued a long journey throughout the MCU's Phase 2 and 3 and still has more projects coming. Mackie was last seen in the Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and with the show's conclusion revealing him as the new Captain America, a Captain America 4 film was instantly announced by Marvel, signing Mackie to the lead role.

In a CMT Fan Cam segment, Anthony Mackie was asked a fan question about who his desert island buddy from the MCU would be. Mackie quickly responded, "I would say Lizzie Olsen because I love to laugh at her because she's a funny human being, but you know, everywhere I go, I take Sebastian. He's my right hand. I'm sorry for being unsurprising but that's my dude, so if I'm going to a deserted island for five days, I'm gonna take my dude. We could do some fishing, drink a few coconuts. It'd be great."

Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch is definitely the best choice for anyone as Wanda has a wide variety of abilities that would surely help if stuck on a deserted island. However, Mackie's decision to pick Sebastian Stan isn't surprising at all. Wilson and Barnes had a wonderful run starting as frienemies in Captain America: Civil War to actually becoming buddies in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Even though Marvel has not yet announced any plans for a Season 2, Captain America 4 might be the perfect reunion for the duo.

Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes already went through a lot fighting alongside Steve Roger's Captain America. Now that Captain Rogers is retired, Wilson and Barnes will certainly continue Roger's legacy in more MCU projects, mainly in Captain America 4.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is available to stream on Disney+.
