Ant-Man Just Made Paul Rudd’s Thanos Butt Joke MCU Canon

We all know for a fact that Thanos has been a major thorn in the side of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes since the very first Avengers film. As it stands, he's still their longest-standing villain to date, and defeating him surely wasn't a walk in the park.

Well, for years leading up to his demise in Avengers: Endgame, MCU fans have thought of creative yet unconventional ways of dealing with the Mad Titan and no, it didn't involve the help of any of the Infinity stones but rather just one hero who has the ability to alter his size.

If you've been a long-time follower of the franchise, you're very much aware of the "Thanus" theory where it is believed that Ant-Man could just shrink in size and enter Thanos' butt before transforming into his giant self which would then result in the "explosion" of the villain. A more wholesome version of the theory exists but the "Thanus" argument is without a doubt the more popular one.

Now it turns out that the Thanos butt joke is finally MCU canon and Scott Lang himself has acknowledged it. Appearing in one of the promotional footage for Disney Wish's Avengers: Quantum Encounter (via The Direct), Paul Rudd's character said the following:

"Hi, I'm Scott Lang, but you might know me as Ant-Man... Look, before we start, let me address the elephant in the room. There's a lot of chatter out there asking why I didn't shrink down, go in and uh... kill Thanos in a really creative way. First of all, gross. Secondly, it's much more complicated than that. Allow me to explain-"

As silly as it may sound, the whole "Thanus" theory does make a ton of sense, especially for a hero like Ant-Man. But who knows, it might have actually taken place in a different reality?
