Ant-Man and The Wasp: Why Michael Douglas Was Excited to Work With Michelle Pfeiffer

When Michael Douglas was cast as Hank Pym in Ant-Man fans were excited since no one had seen the actor in a movie for the longest time. Fast forward a couple of years later and now we have Michelle Pfeiffer in Ant-Man and The Wasp, who will be playing Pym's missing wife Janet Van Dyne, which also resulted in plenty of buzz for the movie. In fact, Douglas was part of the people buzzing with joy.

During an interview with CinemaBlend, Douglas revealed that he is a big fan of Pfeiffer and could not wait to act with her. Though both stars made it big in the 80's, they never worked together so this Marvel sequel is a little more interesting than initially thought.

"I was so excited when I heard about it, and then of course to hear the fact that, 'Oh by the way, you'll both be like 30 years younger.' I thought, 'Oh, Michelle Pfeiffer 30 years younger, too. She looks great now!' I said, 'My goodness.' So, that was a treat. Larry Fishburne's another actor who I've really admired and never thought I'd get a chance to work with. That's one of the joys of these pictures, is that you're always surprised with the new talent that they bring in."

The Wall Street actor also expressed excitement working with Laurence Fishburne, who will be playing Bill Foster aka Goliath in the movie. Douglas felt that he would never get the chance to work with the Matrix actor so he was pleasantly surprised when Fishburne was cast for the role.

It is funny seeing an actor as acclaimed as Douglas go crazy over others in the same occupation. Goes to show that even legends can be fans.

Ant-Man and The Wasp will hit theaters this week on July 6.
