Based on creator Gege Akutami’s one-shot manga titled Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, the movie is a successful prequel packed with action making it a great setup for fans getting into the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

Unlike Yuji Itadori, who is a hyperactive extrovert from Jujutsu Kaisen, the prequel film’s lead, Yuta Okkotsu, is a timid and troubled teen.

A victim of bullying, Okkotsu is also burdened with a giant curse. However, this curse ensures his bullies are taken care of for good.

Rika Orimoto, who is Okkotsu’s curse, was his childhood friend but sadly died. Now, she has become his shadow and kills anyone who can be a threat to him.

Satoru Gojo, who teaches at Tokyo Jujutsu High, learns about Okkotsu and sees potential in him. Gojo decides to guide his curse in the right direction.
