Anime Fan Kills Elderly Parents for Interrupting Marathon Viewing

We all get annoyed when we are interrupted while we are busy. However, one man had taken it too far. The anime fan decided to kill his elderly parents after they kept interrupting him during his marathon viewing session.

Junji Matsumoto is a 59-year-old man who lived with his elderly parents in Fukuoka in Japan. He served as the caregiver to the elders who were aged 87 and 88. However, on June 20, Matsumoto had had enough of his father Hirokazu and his mother Makie.

According to Matsumoto, he killed his parents after his father kept asking for help going to the restroom. "During a good scene in an anime, my father repeatedly called for me to take care of him," Matsumoto said. "Because he complained about me, I killed him."

After killing his father, Matsumoto then turned on his mother. However, he didn't leave their home until June 23 so it is assumed that he continued watching his anime before fleeing.

It wasn't until June 28 that Matsumoto's parents were discovered after a relative called the police and asked to check on them. The corpses were found in a taped-shut industrial refrigerator. Matsumoto, who was on the run, was not found until July 5 when the police arrested him in a hotel parking lot in Kyoto.

Matsumoto is currently in custody and the matter is still under investigation. It is unclear if he has watched anime since his capture.
