Angelina Jolie Reveals Whether She'll Direct an MCU Film After Eternals Role

There is little doubt that playing an immortal warrior in Eternals was no problem for Angelina Jolie. But is there any chance that she will continue to work with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, perhaps by helming a movie? Jolie has opened up about the possibility of directing an MCU project in the future.

Jolie has just attended the premiere of Eternals where she spoke to Variety on the red carpet event. When asked if she would be interested in helming a Marvel film, the Salt actress was enthusiastic about the idea.

"I don't know," Jolie said before adding that Marvel boss Kevin Feige might have the answer for that. "Maybe I'll talk to Kevin tonight, see if there's a job for me."

We're loving that response considering that Jolie has already worked on a lot of awesome movies and she would make a fine addition to Marvel's impressive list of directors. With that in mind, it wouldn't be a surprise if Feige does talk to Jolie about possibly directing a major MCU movie.

Jolie has already directed several amazing films like In the Land of Blood and Honey, Unbroken, By the Sea, and First They Killed My Father. But it's also notable that these features were serious films that tackled worldly issues. It would be interesting to see what Jolie could deliver if she was working on a comic book movie. We'll be keeping an eye out for possible updates on this story.

For now, it's unclear if Jolie will continue working on more MCU movies as an actor or as a director. In the meantime, we'll get to see her in action as Thena in Eternals.

Eternals is directed by Chloe Zhao and also stars Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, and Salma Hayek. The film will hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
