Andy Serkis Teases Snoke's Return In Star Wars: Episode IX

The shocking death of Supreme Leader Snoke was one of the truly unexpected scenes in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But is it possible that the villain may have survived his fate? Andy Serkis has teased on the possibility that his character will return in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Serkis recently spoke to GamesRadar about Snoke's untimely death, something that the Rise of the Planet of the Apes actor admitted "was a bit of a shock." Nevertheless, he realized why director Rian Johnson planned it that way. "I think it was a huge surprise in the middle of the film," Serkis stated before praising Daisy Ridley's character and teasing Snoke's return.

"I really loved the scene where Rey plays with Snoke. That scene was fantastic. I just wish he'd survived, but who knows?"

A lot of fans seem to know what should have happened to Snoke. There are several theories suggesting that the villain actually survived. One particular theory purports that Snoke will be resurrected since he was able to unlock the secret to immortality using the Force. However, it seems highly unlikely that Snoke will return in Episode IX so we recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Although we're still unsure if he will be back in Episode IX, Snoke might make an appearance in a different Star Wars project. Serkis is expected to provide the voice of the villain in the Disney XD animated series Star Wars Resistance. He is also set to appear in the Seth Rogen comedy Flarsky next year.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
