Andrew Garfield Shares Disappointing Update with Amazing Spider-Man 3

Looks like Andrew Garfield is set to join Sony's Spider-Man universe again, thanks to Tom Holland's box-office Marvel film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which reunited a three-generation crossover of Spider-Men with the likes of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield on the big screens that nobody ever thought would happen.

The Academy Award nominee joined No Way Home reprising his Peter Parker character in The Amazing Spider-Man together with Tobey Maguire from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. While Tom Holland is the current Peter Parker in the MCU, fans campaigned for a Spider-Man 4 film for Tobey Maguire and Amazing Spider-Man 3 for Andrew Garfield.

In a recent interview, while No Way Home is dominating the box office, Andrew Garfield expressed his gratitude for giving him a chance to reprise his role as Spider-Man again, and that the film serves as "closure" for the actor.

However, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the 2022 Oscars, Andrew Garfield addressed the possibility of him returning for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

When asked if there were any updates, Garfield admitted, "No update from me! No one's going to believe anything I say ever again, that's my problem."

Fans campaigning for movies is not new, especially with superhero films. On the DC side of things, one worth noting is Zack Snyder's cut of the Justice League, which was granted after several months of online campaigning. Sony hasn't yet announced anything for Garfield's Spider-Man 3 film, but the possibility remains open if the public's demand continues.

At the moment, Sony is currently focused on the expanding Spiderverse, which will include Dakota Johnson's Madame Web, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kraven: The Hunter, and the upcoming Morbius, featuring the MCU newcomer, Jared Leto.

Tobey Maguire had his trilogy for his Spider-Man franchise, and Tom Holland finally completed his trilogy after No Way Home, it would be fair for Andrew Garfield to complete his trilogy film for The Amazing Spider-Man. Regardless if there will be a third Spider-Man film, Garfield has plenty of support for the current Peter Parker, Tom Holland.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available for digital purchase, and is set for Blu-ray release on April 12.
