Analytic Report Says Star Trek: Discovery Is The Most Popular Streaming Show In The US And Uk

It might be wrong, but according to the findings of a new study, Star Trek: Discovery has actually become the most popular streaming television program in the United Kingdom, United States, and in Switzerland.

According to a new study by Parrot Analytic's industry analysts (via Video Ink), Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman's Star Trek: Discovery on CBS All Access became the most popular show on any streaming platform online, taking the top spot for a wide margin every week that it's been running from January to early March.

Parrot Analytic's charts and studies are based on a show's performance of on demand expressions – a scale which incorporates numerous information like "peer-to-peer and streaming content data, fan and critic rating data, and social media data."

It seems like Star Trek: Discovery really is increasing in popularity around the globe, winning the top spot in the charts in the US, UK and in Switzerland. Seeing the series do so well adds to the confidence over CBS' decision to explore the expanse of the Star Trek universe, hoping to expand the television aspect of the franchise. Not only is the network reportedly in talks with Patrick Stewart to reprise his role as Picard, but the franchise is getting four new television series.

It's definitely an exciting time to be a Trekkie.
