Analysts Praise Disney+ for Releasing The Mandalorian Episodes Weekly

The Mandalorian continues to be a hit with Star Wars fans and casual Disney+ viewers alike, inspiring a ton of memes, jokes, and online comics filled with both of the former. Many thought it would be odd for Disney to release the episodes weekly since Netflix has made releasing full seasons the norm. However, analysts have praised the Disney+ streaming service for releasing the episodes weekly.

CNBC asked a number of analysts why releasing The Mandalorian episodes weekly is a good thing and they got a variety of reasons. One analyst claimed that it brings back the feeling of anticipation for the next episode that older television shows pulled off so well. The weekly episodes also give fans time to react accordingly online, with new reactions expected online on a regular basis.

Disney+ releasing these episodes also works from a business standpoint. If you opted to pay monthly for Disney+ then you're going to have to pay for two months just to finish The Mandalorian, which is eight episodes. Granted, most people are probably going to go for a yearly payment service so they can watch all the older Disney movies and shows but there are still those who opt for monthly payment since it's sort of cheaper.

It's hard to argue with some of these points since fans are still talking about The Mandalorian, whether its due to the gritty tone or the appearance of Baby Yoda. With only the fourth episode scheduled to come out this week, it's clear that fans will be talking about The Mandalorian more and more.

The Mandalorian comes out weekly on the Disney+ streaming service, which is available now for those who haven't subscribed.
