An Even Closer Look at Mysterio's Outfit from Spider-Man: Far from Home

Just recently we got a look at Jake Gyllenhaal in his Mysterio outfit for Spider-Man: Far from Home, but admittedly, those images have come out a tad blurry. A clearer image of the costume has found its way online, though, and it shows some comic-accurate colors and some finer details.

Check it out:

I'm assuming that his fishbowl helmet is destroyed at this point in the movie—such is the case with any comic book villain who's played by a famous actor; Green Goblin and the Vulture lost their helmets by the end, and I'm sure it's going to happen with Mysterio as well. Sony didn't pay Gyllenhaal to have his face stay completely hidden.

Going back to the costume though, you can see some of the signature green that we know from the comics, even the box-shaped gauntlets. The cape also looks to have some patterns on it that could even pass for a Doctor Strange item.

With the suit looking so comic-accurate, I'm almost convinced that this will be just a short homage like Captain America's first suit or the "Silver-Centurion" color scheme for the Mark V Iron Man suit. Then again, Doctor Strange looks pretty much like he did in the comics as well as other characters like Thor as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy. Maybe the movie is sticking to this look for Mysterio until his final bout with Spider-Man.

Catch Spider-man: Far from Home in theaters July 5, 2019.
