Among Many Hollywood Chrises, Chris Pratt Encourages Fans to Call Him Anything But His First Name

Chris Pratt established a triumphant career in Hollywood and became one of the most buzzed celebrities in the industry. Starting from a breakout role as Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation, Pratt went on to play iconic characters from renowned franchises like Owen Grady in Jurassic World and Star-Lord in MCU's Guardian of the Galaxy.

More impressively, Pratt also made it into Hollywood's most famous Chrises, starting from Marvel veterans Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, to Star Trek's Chris Pine. While Pratt appears fortunate to acquire such a Hollywood name, he recently unveiled that nobody ever calls him Chris, and he prefers to be called anything but his first name.

In a recent interview with SiriusXM's Pop Culture Spotlight With Jessica Shaw (via EW), Pratt admitted that nobody ever really calls him by his first name. Instead, he prefers to be called: "Pratt. CP. You know, CP. 'Hey, CP.' But no one calls me Chris. My friend, Chad," he said. "I went golfing with my friend, Chad, my pastor the other day and he was like, 'No one calls you Chris? I'm gonna call you Chris. Alright, Chris. You're up.' And I was like, 'No, it feels weird. It's not my name. Don't call me Chris.'"

Although this comment from Pratt is plainly a gag, it still makes sense. Chris is a very common name in the US, and while three Hollywood Chrises exist in the MCU, fans have just decided to call them by their last name. His inclusion in the MCU and the opportunity to work with two fan-beloved Chrises; Evans and Hemsworth is undeniably a delightful accident, and would surely be one of the highlights of his career.

Pratt will be joining another Chris in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder and help Hemsworth's Thor go against the Christian Bale's Gorr The God Butcher. Aside from the Marvel film, he also stars in Jurassic World Dominion and Amazon's upcoming film The Terminal List. That said, among the three Chrises, he is undoubtedly the busiest.

Chris Pratt or CP will reprise the role of Star-Lord in Thor: Love and Thunder, while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will premiere in 2023.
