Gillian Anderson might not be coming back in American Gods Season 2 but that doesn't mean that Media will not be an important character in the series. A new sneak peek from the Starz show teases on new conflicts and the search for the missing New God.
The sneak peek was shared by Amazon on Twitter and features more than three minutes of the second season's first episode. The video opens with a man preparing to tee off at a golf course. Unfortunately, he is quickly mowed down by a huge limousine driven by none other than Technical Boy, who is in a great hurry to get somewhere.
Once they reach their destination, Technical Boy is chastised by his passenger, who turns out to be Mr. World. It looks like Crispin Glover's character has new plans for the second season but there is a major obstacle. "I can't sow order without my best salesman," he declares before turning to Technical Boy. "You need to find her." If that's not enough, he gives a more succinct order: "Find Media."
Although Anderson will not be returning as Media, the series has already found her replacement. New Media will be portrayed by Kahyun Kim in Season 2. Will the series find a way to explain why the New God is being played by a completely different actress? It looks like we'll find out right away in the first episode.
American Gods Season 2 has found a new showrunner in Jesse Alexander. The series will return on Starz on March 20, 2019.
