It's been over a month since Johnny Depp won the defamation case he filed against ex-wife Amber Heard and while many assume it's the start of a clean slate for the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, it seems like the Aquaman actress isn't ready to surrender just yet. In fact, the 36-year-old star recently filed a motion to have the defamation verdict thrown out.

The ever-so-controversial actress claims that a fake juror sat during the high-stakes Virginia trial which saw its end last June. However, the Mera actress has officially lost her bid for a new trial in the defamation case after a judge junked the motion from the actress' lawyers.

Judge Penny Azcarate (via Deadline) denied Heard of the motion, ruling that there was "no evidence of fraud or wrongdoing” from the juror's side and that the verdict must stand. As of writing, Heard's camp has yet to offer an official statement regarding the latest development surrounding the defamation lawsuit.

It'll be interesting to see what Amber's next bold move would be and it's safe to assume that all the drama between her and Johnny is far from over. Meanwhile, the actress is still set to appear in the Aquaman sequel despite calls from the fandom to have her removed entirely from the project.

I'm not sure if it's a smart move on Warner Bros. Pictures' part to keep the actress on board but if the latest rumors are to be believed, Aquaman 2 will mark the end of Heard's DCEU career.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's theatrical release has been rescheduled to March 17, 2023.
