2022 isn't over yet but we can safely say that it's been a whirlwind of a year for Aquaman actress Amber Heard who lost the defamation case Johnny Depp filed against her. As it stands, the 36-year-old's future in Hollywood is shrouded in doubt with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom potentially being her final project before her career gets squandered completely.

It can't be denied that Heard was once considered among the most promising stars in Tinseltown and the success of the 2018 DC Extended Universe film starring Jason Momoa nearly launched her career to the stratosphere. Unsurprisingly, her agent feels the same way and according to her, Amber should've been an even bigger deal in the business.

Sharing her disappointment over Amber's would-have-been stellar acting career, WME agent Jessica Kovacevic said (via CinemaBlend):"Because typically when you have an actor in a movie as successful as that, as Aquaman was, their career total changes… they’re more bankable. With her, that did not happen."

While her agent raises a pretty valid argument, no one should ever turn a blind eye on Amber's controversies which were obviously detrimental to her Hollywood career not taking off as they hoped. Now, considering she's one of the most despised celebrities in the industry, it would take a lot for Amber to redeem herself and frankly speaking, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

As for Mera, it's unclear whether or not the character gets written off but with Amber confirming during the trial that her screentime in Aquaman 2 has been reduced, it's kind of safe to assume that the Atlantean Princess will actually die in the sequel.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently slated for release on December 25, 2023.
