Amber Heard Shares First Look at Mera's Return in Aquaman 2

There is little doubt that Amber Heard is the most controversial part of Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. We all know about the petitions asking for her removal from the highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe sequel. However, it looks like Heard isn't going anywhere soon. The Justice League star has shared our first look at Mera in the second Aquaman movie.

Heard posted the new image on her official Twitter account along with a punny caption. The photo shows the actress on the set of Aquaman 2 with Mera's trademark red hair. Check it out below.

It looks like Mera will not be getting a new hairstyle when we see her again in Aquaman 2. However, fans believe that the future Queen of Atlantis will get a new suit next year. Hopefully, Heard will share more images of Mera's new look in the next few weeks.

While things appear to be going well for Heard, her Aquaman 2 co-star Jason Momoa isn't quite as lucky. It was previously reported that the Dune actor had tested positive for COVID-19 and needed to self-quarantine. If this is the case, there's a possibility that production on The Lost Kingdom will be put on hold. This could mean that filming on the sequel will be delayed for at least two weeks and could affect the cast and crew's schedules.

For now, there hasn't been an official statement from Warner Bros. about Momoa's health condition. Nevertheless, we are hoping that we'll get some news on his condition soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be directed by James Wan. It will also star Patrick Wilson as Orm, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, and Randall Park as Doctor Stephen Shin. The sequel is scheduled for release on December 16, 2022.
