A lot of fans are looking forward to the upcoming The Boys spinoff series Gen V that is set in a college for young superheroes. Production already wrapped a year ago ahead of its planned release for this year.

So far, we haven't heard a lot of updates regarding its upcoming release aside from the teaser trailer that they released a while ago and there are hopes that the plan to release this year will still continue despite the ongoing writers' strike.

Now, we finally have an update regarding the show's release and the other Prime Videos that are also set to arrive this year.

Amazon Confirms the Release of Gen V This Fall

Prime Video recently released a sneak peek video on their upcoming shows and new seasons during Amazon's Prime Day 2023 celebration.

One of the announcements that they made is the confirmation that The Boys spinoff series Gen V is set to release on Prime Video this coming September. The exact date will be announced at a later time.

The show's official synopsis reads: "Set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s top ranking."

Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi are starring in the spinoff with appearances from The Boys cast members such as Colby Minifie and Jessie T. Usher.

The streamer also announced that the highly-anticipated TV series adaptation of Mr. & Mrs. Smith starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine will release this November.

Meanwhile, the second season of the hit action series Reacher is set to arrive on the streamer this December. It will be an almost two-year gap from the first season premiere.

This is certainly an exciting update for fans who have been looking forward to the aforementioned shows since it is an assurance that they are still set to release this year. We should be hearing more news and updates about this in the coming weeks or months.
