Altered Carbon's Lela Loren on Danica Harlan's True Motives

The second season of Altered Carbon is finally here and we got to meet a truly interesting new villain. In Season 2, Danica Harlan appears to be looking out for everyone on Harlan's World but also manages to increase the body count. So what exactly are Danica's true motives? Lela Loren discussed her character's plans in the Netflix series.

In Altered Carbon Season 2, it was revealed that Danica is a manipulative mastermind who is determined to stay in control of Harlan's World. Naturally, that means having to cut off loose ends and that's where Colonel Ivan Carrera and The Wedge comes in. But what's the deal with Danica? Loren told Comicbook.com that the character has her reasons.

"She wants peace and order. She wants to stop these murders, but it's how she goes about getting that is what sort of creates the horror," Loren said. She then added that Danica tends to sacrifice one thing at the expense of others.

"I really like to get into the internal workings of a clock to figure out how it's built, and so it's sort of like Danica doesn't have a strategy that holds both. She just goes at one at the expense of these other human ideals, so it's like, you go for a good thing at the expense of these other good things, and then horror ensues," Loren stated.

She might not be a good guy but Danica made the second season a little more interesting. Perhaps we'll get to see more of her in the next season.

Altered Carbon Season 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
