In case you missed it, Netflix has decided to cancel Altered Carbon after only two seasons. Although this is bad news for fans of the cyberpunk series, it could also mean good things for the Star Wars Universe. There are speculations that the show's cancellation could mean that creator Laeta Kalogridis will finally have time to work on the planned Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic movie.
Deadline reports that Altered Carbon is one of the several shows that have been cancelled by Netflix. The report confirmed that the cancellation was not related to COVID-19 and was instead decided by the streaming service due to "the streamer's standard viewership vs. cost renewal review process." Sadly, this means fans will not get to see what will happen to Quellcrist Falconer after the shocking Season 2 finale.
But could this mean that Kalogridis could finally start working on a completely different project? Fans believe that the Alita: Battle Angel screenwriter can now focus on writing the screenplay for the long-awaited Knights of the Old Republic movie based on the Star Wars video game.
Back in May 2019, there were several reports confirming that Kalogridis will pen the screenplay for the KOTOR adaptation. However, there haven't been any updates about the project as she started working on the second season of Altered Carbon. With that in mind, fans may finally expect to get some good news about the highly-anticipated Star Wars project soon.
