All of Us Are Dead director Lee Jae Gyu talks about his plans for All of Us Are Dead Season 2. Among the many plots he wants to make, the filmmaker hints at the possible return of Cheong-San (Chan Young Yoon).

Netflix is yet to renew the series, but Lee Jae Gyu already has something in mind about All of Us Are Season 2. So, will fans see Cheong-San’s return?

The Possible Return of Cheong-San in All of Us Are Dead Season 2

In the first season’s 11th episode, Cheong-San fell to his death with Gwi-Nam (In So Yoo) during the explosion. Many were surprised by this unexpected turn of events, seeing Chan Young Yoon as one of the lead stars.

So, is there any way that Cheong-San will make a return in All of Us Are Dead Season 2?

"If Cheong-San were to come alive, I think there will be viewers who won't be able to accept that but also there are going to be fans who are happy about it,” Lee Jae Gyu told Wikitree in an online interview, as translated by AllKpop. “We have a definite plan, but it's difficult to share it here, now."

"I do have a vague picture that I drew out imagining what would happen if all the other actors, including Cheong-San, were to appear in Season 2,” he continued. “I definitely want to add more plot twists than season 1."

Cheong-San has quickly turned into a fan-favorite character. So just like the viewers, Lee Jae Gyu is also fond of Chan Young Yoon’s role.

With that being said, he also admitted he cried when Cheon-Sang died.

“It really hurt my heart that he made a choice he did when he was a kid who oppressed his inner feelings,” he explained. “I was proud of him but also so sad when he said, 'I am the happiest guy in this school,' as he comforted himself."

Lee Jae Gyu’s Plans for All of Us Are Dead Season 2

Meanwhile, as soon as Netflix dropped All of Us Are Dead, it quickly became the top TV series in many countries. With the show’s incredible success, Lee Jae Gyu now has plans for the series.

“If season 1 continues to be popular in the long run, I think it will be the foothold for the second season,” he said.

He also wanted to make All of Us Are Dead Season 2, but nothing is confirmed yet.

"If season 1 showed a comparison and contrast in how adults and students survive the zombie apocalypse, I want to show the comparison between the surviving human group and the zombie group in season 2,” the TV and film director continued.

Meanwhile, he also told The Korea Herald that the first season had several plot points that could be explored in the second season. It might mostly involve the evolution of the half-zombies Nam-Ra (Yi Hyun Cho) and Gwi-Nam.

“Many directions, settings and scenes were intentionally produced to expand the story into an additional season, including the introduction of the new races of zombies -- immune and immortal,” he revealed. “If the first season can be seen as having presented humanity‘s survival, the next season can talk about the survival of zombies. I hope to present viewers with another season.”

All of Us Are Dead tells the story of a group of students trapped inside a zombie-infested high school after it became ground zero.
