Netflix Teases Alice in Borderland Season 2 in New Festival Japan 2021 Video


During the Netflix Festival Japan 2021 event, the streaming giant featured the "New Live-Action Japanese Lineup" video which previews various projects coming for the platform in the near future.

This includes a first look at Season 2 of the live-action adaptation of Haro Aso's Alice in Borderland manga series. The first season premiered on Netflix in 2020 in 190 countries, and it became the most-viewed live-action series in Japan last year, and ranked in Netflix's top 10 in 40 countries and territories worldwide. The survival series became trending again after Squid Game was released in September.

The Japanese series features a group of friends Ryōhei, Karube and Chōta, who discover a parallel world devoid of people and forced to participate in deadly games. Staring Kento Yamazaki, Tao Tsuchiya, Yuzuha Usagi, Alice in Borderland is directed by Shinsuke Satō with production by studio ROBOT.

The teaser features Kento Kayamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, who plays Ryōhei Arisu and Yuzuha Usagi in the series, sharing a production update about Alice in Borderland Season 2, which is currently in production. Sadly for fans who can't wait to find out more about the new episodes, Netflix hasn't released any new footage for Season 2 yet, but expect a full trailer to come out next year.

Netflix confirmed Season 2 of Alice in Borderland shortly after the first season was released, and the company already shared a teaser.
