Alec Baldwin’s Thomas Wayne In The Joker Movie Reportedly Painted As An Early Donald Trump

Warner Brother's has been busy preparing for the production of Todd Phillip's The Joker movie casting actors and actresses over the past few weeks. Last month, the studio nabbed Marc Maron. Three weeks ago, the film landed Deadpool 2's Zazie Beetz. This week, Warner Brothers cast 30 Rock alum Alec Baldwin as the film's Thomas Wayne.

Now, new reports say that the actor and comedian is going to play a version of Batman's father who comes off as an early Donald Trump.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources say that the script for the Joker character study movie actually has Thomas Wayne painted as a "cheesy and tanned businessman who is more in the mold of a 1980's Donald Trump."

The news comes as a surprise. Batman's father has always come off as a suave and savvy businessman – nothing of the likes of President Donald Trump in his early years as a businessman. Still, if the rumors do prove to be true, we're pretty sure that Baldwin would do pretty well playing a Trump-like Thomas Wayne in Warner Brothers' The Joker.

After all, the actor has played President Trump on Saturday Night Live before, the role earning him a second Emmy nomination for the role.

The Joker is set to premiere on Oct. 4, 2019.
