Creature Commandos star Alan Tudyk is reportedly set to make an appearance in James Gunn's highly-anticipated Superman movie.
Production wrapped for the DCU movie last month ahead of its release in theaters next year. It is set to officially launch the new franchise under the management of Gunn and Peter Safran.
So far, the plot details regarding the Man of Steel's solo DCU movie are still under wraps, but the set photos have given fans their early glimpse and it is expected to feature a more optimistic take on the iconic superhero.
James Gunn's Superman Adds Alan Tudyk in Secret Role
According to a new report, Tudyk is set to make an appearance in Superman in a secret role.
While he is already part of the DCU family as he is voicing Doctor Phosphorus in Creature Commandos, he will likely play a different character in the film.
This is intriguing casting news as it suggests that Tudyk will likely have dual roles in the DCU, which is an odd situation since it gives the impression that Gunn and Safran are willing to recycle some of the actors and have them play different roles.
However, given that Creature Commandos is animated and Doctor Phosphorus is a character that doesn't have a normal human likeness, it might not be confusing for the audience to see Tudyk play two different characters in the same universe.
We have also seen in Gunn's past films that he always cast his friends to appear in his films so it feels inevitable that he would recruit Tudyk to be part of the project even if it might just a small role.
It would be interesting to see what kind of role will Tudyk play in the film and whether it is somehow connected to his Creature Commandos role.
Superman is slated for release in theaters on July 11, 2025.
