- Quick Answer: A new Lucasfilm prop photo reveals Nightsisters worshipping the Mortis Gods, signaling a deeper exploration of ancient Force lore in Ahsoka Season 2.
A new Ahsoka Season 2 photo features the Mortis Gods with the Nightsisters, and it just teases a deeper dive into Star Wars lore.
A lot has already been said about the Daughter, the Son, and the Father, who represent the light side of the Force, the dark side, and balance, respectively, coming to the series’ second season, with showrunner Dave Filoni himself confirming they will be part of the story.
But as they died in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, how will the Mortis Gods be depicted in Ahsoka Season 2?
What Is the New Ahsoka Season 2 Photo About?

A new photo prop for Ahsoka Season 2, currently displayed at Lucasfilm headquarters, features the Nightsisters worshipping the Mortis Gods while being guarded by two ancient mechs.
As posted on Luke Winchester’s Instagram, the image draws a link between Peridea, Mortis, and the Nightsisters.
In the first season of the show, he explained that the Zeffo sage Kujet was referenced on the exterior of the Ur-Kittât runes or the Nightsister temple.
Kujet is known as a corrupt, ruthless Zeffo ruler who turned to the dark side, and his influence was believed to have destroyed Peridea.
“Before then, the Father, Daughter, and Mother kept the balance,” he continued.
While Winchester clarified that this was only his speculation, it helped build anticipation for the second season.
What Does the New Ahsoka Season 2 Photo Reveal?

Surely, with Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) working with the Nightsisters in the previous season, they will have major roles to play in Ahsoka Season 2.
The Great Mothers, Klothow (Claudia Black), Aktropaw (Jeryl Prescott Gallien), and Lakesis (Jane Edwina Seymour) survive the events of Season 1 and escape to the main Star Wars galaxy with Thrawn.
However, there is no denying that the new prop photo reveals a much deeper connection between the Nightsisters and the Mortis Gods.
The trio resided on Peridea before Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) arrived on the planet in the first season.
That said, there have been theories that the Witches of Dathomir had a connection with the gods of Peridea, which Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) was about to uncover as he stood on top of the massive stone statue of the Father on Peridea at the end of the Season 1 finale.
So, as Dave Filoni previously hinted at going deep into Star Wars lore, it looks like it’s about to happen in Ahsoka Season 2.
Ahsoka Season 2 premieres on January 20, 2027, on Disney+, where the first season is also available to stream.
