Ahmed Best Open to Returning as Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars

Star Wars might be moving away from the Skywalker saga now that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's completed the Skywalker story, however, Lucasfilm continues to return to fan-favorite characters, developing series for Obi-Wan Kenobi and promising the live-action appearance of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

While we're not quite sure whether Jar Jar Binks would ever make a return in the galaxy far, far away, it seems like Star Wars actor Ahmed Best is open to reprising his role as the infamous Gungan despite all the negativity that he received during the prequel trilogy's release.

During the middle of a thread about diversity and representation in Hollywood, a Star Wars fan asked Best whether he'd ever return as Jar Jar Binks in the galaxy far, far away.

One might expect Best to say no – after all, the actor has often been at the receiving end of hate messages and bullying because of the clumsy, slow-witted Gunggan.

However, it seems like Best is open to reprising the role. It all depends on the story though.

This doesn't mean that Jar Jar is making any appearances though. Earlier this year, when asked about the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Best revealed that he hadn't heard anything from Lucasfilm about the possibility of having Jar Jar Binks in the project.

Other series/ projects seem rather unlikely. Besides, Best is already working on Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, a game show much like Legends of the Hidden Temple.

The Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
