As fans may very well know, HYDRA's presence has been the root of many pivotal moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the release of the seventh and final season of Agents of SHIELD, a new teaser highlights just how big the group factors into the heroes' adventures, and it's not looking good for Coulson and the team.
In the newly released clip, Clark Gregg's Coulson and Chloe Bennet's Quake are seen in fancy getups to fit the style that was prominent in the time they were transported to, so they could blend in easily. Later in the footage, a HYDRA decoder ring was shown. You can check it out below!
The season will be following the adventures of the team as they hop through time, and it seems like they'll be encountering HYDRA often in the time periods they'll end up in.
It was revealed in Captain America: The Winter Soldier that HYDRA was secretly built in SHIELD from the very beginning. Since Coulson and the rest are hopping through time, it is crucial for HYDRA to survive so that SHIELD will end up in what it actually is after all the adventures and information they have gathered over the years. So as the season suggests, there will be a time-travel conundrum that'll require the heroes to decide, and it's way harder than it seems.
