aespa Ningning dominated the internet due to her Paris Fashion Week looks, but she also sparked condemnation because of her alleged rude behavior.
Nining became the last aespa member to make it to the Paris Fashion Week after facing a visa issue. While Koreans could visit France without a visa, Chinese — like Ningning — needs to obtain one.
SM Entertainment immediately resolved the issue and had her jet to the country, but she sparked criticism soon after arriving.

aespa Ningning Was Reportedly Rude to Fans
On Twitter, a now-viral video shows the idol walking toward their waiting vehicle. She sports a black mini dress with her hair tied up.
In the clip, however, fans noticed how she covers her ear while fans chant her name. One of the uploaders called her “most rude [sic] 4th gen idol.” While the criticism continuously came up, fans defended her and insisted that she might be having a bad day.

It was not the first time she stirred an issue, though.
Earlier this year, compiled videos of Ningning not bowing sparked fury as fans saw it as a sign of disrespect to South Korean culture. Keun Jeol, the form of bowing in question, is done by bowing down on the floor with their hands and knees as a respectful greeting to the elders during the new year.
It turns out that Chinese custom does not follow the bow as they can only do it to the heavens, earth, and their parents. This is the reason why most Chinese idols also do not bow while the Korean members do the Keun Jeol.
Ningning Still Turns People’s Heads
Amid the controversy, Ningning still wowed fans when she attended the Paris Fashion Week as Givenchy’s ambassador together with her co-members.
They applauded her for showing off her well-proportioned body and her famous supermodel walk. She also did some fan service when she peeked out at her fans while the event was ongoing.
