The animated show will consist of 10 episodes and also feature the former Ice King Simon Petrikov as well as a powerful new antagonist who wants to track down the gender-swapped duo and put a stop to their adventures.

The characters were first introduced in Adventure Time Season 3 Episode 9 titled Fionna and Cake. In the episode, Ice King forces Finn and Jake to listen to his gender-swapped fanfiction of them where the female version of Finn goes on a date with the male version of Princess Bubblegum named Prince Gumball. They also go up against the female version of the Ice King (Ice Queen, obviously) voiced by Grey DeLisle.
