There was a long stretch of silence after Adult Swim released the highly anticipated Rick and Morty season 3 premiere episode during an April Fool's Day special event, worrying fans endlessly that the sharp-witted science fiction comedy series had been canceled quietly.
Ever since the season 3 premiere episode was released, the network has kept quiet about when they'd roll out the rest of Rick and Morty season 3. Thankfully it seems like the series remains alive – the official Rick and Morty Twitter handle has just announced a live stream. Hosted by series showrunners and co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the live stream event is set to hit the Adult Swim website this Thursday, June 29 and will run from 6 pm to 9 pm EST.
Check out the Tweet below:
While the Tweet doesn't specify whether Roiland and Harmon would discuss the new season of Rick and Morty, its very likely that the two will make a season 3 release date announcement in between some bizarre jokes about Szechuan sauce and whatnot. The series' odd sense of humor and philosophical themes have helped the series become well-liked by the science fiction fan community, and everyone's eager to get their grimy hands on the rest of Rick and Morty season 3.
Rick and Morty season 3 premieres on Adult Swim sometime this summer.
