As one of South Korea’s best actresses, Lee Young Ae has already established a strong empire in the industry through the projects she starred in. She famously appeared in the hit historical drama, Dae Jang Geum, and starred in more series and movies from there.
While busy with her career as an actress, Lee Young Ae takes her time to help other people through her philanthropic projects.

Lee Young Ae Helps Victims of Fire in Seoul
On Jan. 20, authorities confirmed that a fire destroyed 60 homes in Seoul, leading 500 people to leave the area. Reports said the fire erupted in Guryong Village before daybreak.
No casualties were reported.

After learning about the incident, the Sympathy for Lady Vengeance star donated 50 million won (around $40,700) to the victims through the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities.
“My heart ached after hearing news about the residents of Guryong Village who have lost their homes and whose lives have become more difficult due to this sudden fire. I want to become of at least a bit of help to those who are suffering,” she said.
Meanwhile, the foundation revealed that Lee Young Ae personally said to help young victims, as well.
Lee Young Ae Aided Itaewon Crowd Rush Tragedy’s Victims
Through Korea Welfare Foundation for the Disabled, Lee Young Ae also helped the family of 25-year-old Juliana Park. One of the victims of the Halloween tragedy in Itaewon was residing in South Korea before she died.
Her father, who is in Russia, wanted her body to be transported back to the country but did not have the $5,000 transportation fees. Lee Young Ae, on the other hand, immediately helped the family by giving them financial assistance.
The Russian embassy also made a big move by telling the families of the Russian victims that it would resolve the issues of transportation costs. It also assured to issue of the necessary documents to transport the bodies as soon as possible.
