Abby Elliott reveals she was pregnant during one scene in The Bear, which made filming much more difficult.
At the time, Elliot's character, Natalie, had to eat Sydney's potato chip omelette, and it wasn't a delightful experience as much as the actress wanted to admit.
The Bear's Omelette Scene Took a Toll on Abby Elliott
Before SNL veteran Abby Elliott reprises her role as Natalie 'Sugar' Berzatto in The Bear season 3, she recently shared a particular incident in season 2 that had her requiring a spit bucket. Specifically, it was in episode 9 titled Omelette.
Any fan of The Bear could argue that the omelette episode was one of the most intimate scenes they could ask for from the series.
Instead of watching the same bustling kitchen with Richie and Carmy, fans got to see Sydney make an omelette for Natalie.
Elliott revealed how she barely got through a scene with Ayo Edebiri in the Omelette episode, where Edebiri's character, Sydney, had to cook the infamous Potato Chip Omelette.
"So, I was pregnant in [The Bear season 2] on the show," the actress explained, "And the one food aversion, like I felt great, but the one aversion I had was to eggs."
Elliott added that Sydney cooked an omelette that had goat cheese and potato chips, "I had to have a spit bucket, and Ayo had executed it perfectly. She was practicing in the kitchen. She did two takes, and I had to spit it out."
However, Elliott mentioned a tip on how she would not have had to spit out the eggs: "If it had Sour Patch Kids on it or something, then I would have been like, 'Okay, let's go.'"
Interestingly, as the actress herself revealed, her son loves eggs and potato chips, suggesting she could remake the dish for him someday.
The Bear season 3 returns with 10 episodes on Hulu on June 27.
