Disney has been releasing a lot of different Star Wars content between animated and live-action shows on Disney+, along with other big-screen projects that are currently in development. There is something for every type of fan to enjoy, and now another new animated series can be added to Disney’s upcoming slate. Star Wars composer Kevin Kiner was invited to The Convor Call, where he revealed that Disney is developing a new Star Wars animated series. Kiner has been the composer for past Star Wars series such as Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and Star Wars: Clone War, so he is very familiar with the inner workings of Lucasfilm.

During the interview, Kiner didn’t say what the new animated series could be. However, he did hype the series up, which should be music to the ears of Star Wars fans: "You know, we are working on a new project. It's an animated project. It's a Star Wars project. And that's all we can say. It's really, really frikkin' great… To the point where Lucasfilm and Disney are giving us full orchestra for every episode… It's a very special project, some great, great people are involved, and we're really privileged to be part of that one. And I probably said too much already."

There have been rumors of various Star Wars projects that are currently in development for Disney+. Another kid-focused Disney+ series that features the High Republic is also reportedly in the works, with several sources referring to this show as “Stranger Things in space.” There are some fans who believe that Darth Maul is the next one to get his own Star Wars series. A report back in 2021 claimed the Maul animated series will also serve as a prequel to Solo: A Star Wars Story, which will help fill in one of the last big gaps in the character arc of Darth Maul

Star Wars’ Obi-Wan Kenobi series is set to be released on May 25, 2022 exclusively on Disney+.
