A Quiet Place was a huge hit when it premiered in March this year. Not only did John Krasinki's science fiction horror film became a major box office hit with its $332 million global earnings, it also received a wave of positive reviews from critics with many praising A Quiet Place for its originality, acting, directing and the sound design that created a terrifying atmosphere in the movie.
Now, five months after the film's release, it looks like Paramount has finally given the film's sequel a release date, scheduling A Quiet Place 2 for summer of 2020.
According to a new report by The Wrap, A Quiet Place 2 is set to hit cinemas on May 15, 2020. While there aren't that many details about the plot just yet, fans are expecting A Quiet Place's sequel to follow the story of the original where Lee Abott's (John Krasinski) deaf daughter Regan, (Millicent) discovers a way how to defeat the sound-based aliens.
Of course, the film could go to other places as well – after all, Krasinski has said before that A Quiet Place 2 could focus on the other potential survivors of the original film's alien apocalypse.
While the plot of the film isn't certain, what fans do know is that Krasinski will definitely stay on the film as its director, staying behind the camera after his character Lee, died sacrificing his life for his children in the first movie.
A Quiet Place 2 makes its way to cinemas on May 15, 2020.
