A New LEGO Star Wars Game is in the Works!

LEGO Star Wars is probably one of the most celebrated games under the Lucasarts banner, and it looks like we're finally going to get a follow-up.

During an appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2019, Skywalker Sound supervising sound editor Matthew Wood just casually dropped that they're working on several projects including a new LEGO Star Wars.

We don't really get into much details on what the story will be about, but some guess it will have something to do with the sequel trilogy. We've already gotten a game for The Force Awakens, but we got nothing for The Last Jedi as well as anthology movies like Rogue One and Solo.

I'm guessing this next game will try to encompass both The Last Jedi and The Rise of the Skywalker and maybe the anthology films can come as expansions. Then again, I would be completely fine if the anthology films were all part of the main game, and expansions could be based on comics or maybe the upcoming series The Mandalorian.

We don't have that much info on this new LEGO Star Wars yet, but hopefully, we get an update within the year. If it does have Episode IX content, then maybe we could be looking at a release late December in order to stop any leaks. Then again, that's just my guess.

For now, the next big video game under the Star Wars title is Jedi: Fallen Order, and it comes out Nov. 15.
