Creator DJ Nash Addresses A Million Little Things Cancellation
The show’s cast announced the news about the cancellation in a video posted on YouTube on the network’s channel on Friday, November 4.
Alternatively, the show’s creator, DJ Nash, released an emotional statement to address the cancellation and excite fans to see the final season.
“I know seeing this show end may be sad for many people (especially my mom, who watches live every week), but I always knew I wanted to follow these friends for five seasons and leave them when the time was right,” he said, via Variety.

“When we started making our show, I never could have imagined this incredible community of ‘Millionaires’ who would come together and not only watch but also share with each other their personal struggles, their pain, and ultimately their true grit,” he continued. “I am both honored and humbled by all of it and am so in awe of the incredible actors, writers, directors, and crew who lend their talent to make our show. I am also so grateful that ABC now makes mental health awareness one of the top issues for which it advocates. Terrence and I can’t wait for the Millionaires to watch what we have planned for our final season.”
Why was A Million Little Things Canceled?
The show’s previous seasons proved to be a strong draw for ABC, especially in the drama category.
However, it still received mixed critical reception. From there, its live audience started to decrease in the later seasons.

But its delayed viewership went well, with a whopping 249 percent increase in total viewers from the live audience.
That said, viewership alone is not the sole factor A Million Little Things was canceled. ScreenRant noted that it was just the right time to end the series.
Based on his statement, Nash seems only to have a five-season plan. Now, fans have to wait and see if A Million Little Things Season 5 will give justice to the story with its ending.

A Million Little Things Season 5 will premiere on Wednesday, February 8, at 10 p.m. on ABC.
